There're several rules you should follow to use the internet.
1. Apologize first : When misunderstanding happens by your posts, have a responsibility for being unclear, apologize, and say what you meant more clearly. You don't have to anger to the comments againt your opinions.
2. Respect a group's Gods : In most of mailing lists, there're old mentors who have earned their respects of all members. By commenting against to them, you'll earn the enmity of the group members. Do respect them!
3. Cite all quotes, references and sources and respect copyright and license agreements : you know why!!
4. To help you being a better net user, use 'Acronyms'
For example,
FYI = For Your Information
YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary
BTW = By The Way
IMHO = In My Humble/Honest Opinion
FWIW = For What It's Worth
